This 1965 Chevy Impala SS coupe has been completely transformed into a one off, tough American classic and is being offered at NO RESERVE. The car is owned by Allan Clark who is well known member of the Australian car scene, organising Australia’s biggest dedicated lowrider show, Lowrider Sunday. Unfortunately, Allan has recently been diagnosed with stage four brain cancer and his family approached us to sell this Impala for them. Allan has given so much to the car community here in Australia, we want to give back and help his young family as much as possible on this car, so we have decided to donate 100% of the commission back to the family on this car. We hope to put every single cent possible directly into their pockets to help fight this as hard as they can. We want people to bid with their hearts on this one, not only because it’s you can own a tough SS Impala but also to help Allan and his family as much as possible.

Now to the car itself, it’s a 1965 Chevy Impala coupe and a genuine SS.  The car was purchase by Allan back in 2022. The car was solid but the paintwork had seen better days at the time so the car was stripped and completely repainted in Magnetic Metallic Grey late last year. The car remains true to its original lines on the outside with the exception of the hole cut in the bonnet for the massive blown big block to poke through. Even the underside of the floors are neatly finished in gloss black. The car sits slammed to the ground on airbag suspension with Accuair e-level air management. Air supply is handled by twin Viair compressors into a tank mounted in the boot with Accuair VU-4 valve block. The Accuair e-level system is completely self-levelling with height sensors on all four corners. It allows you to program three preset ride heights as well as control each corner individually. The car is set to pop up to its normal ride height as soon as you turn the key and will adjust itself to the correct level as you drive making it truly a set and forget system.

Inside the car has been retrimmed back to factory SS style in black vinyl. Being an, SS you get bucket seats up front with a bench in the rear. There is a trio of aftermarket gauges mounted neatly under the dash to keep an eye on what’s happening under the bonnet. The original Impala steering wheel remains in place and there is a ratchet style B&M shifter for the auto mounted between the front seats. The boot has been finished in the factory style speckle coat with air supply gear mounted up behind the rear seat.

Pop the bonnet and things get serious. Mounted front and centre is a tough built and blown 540ci big block V8 engine. The engine is built using a Bowtie block and heads and includes forged pistons, oversized valve springs and Romac performance balancer. Up top there is a Weiand 8/71 blower fed by twin 950 cfm Profuel carbs. Spark is supplied by an MSD ignition system with 6AL digital ignition box. Keeping things cool is a new PWR alloy radiator with twin thermo fans. Fuel is supplied by an electric fuel pump with fuel pressure reg and braided lines. Exhaust gases escape through custom 2 ¼ inch headers into four inch collectors and a custom exhaust. There is a dyno sheet with the car showing a result of 844hp and 714nm of torque.

The engine is paired to a built alloy Powerglide automatic transmission with B&M ratchet style shifter. Power is fed to the rear wheels through a shortened 12 bolt rear end with Trutrac centre and 31 spline billet axles. The brakes feature a power booster and dual master cylinder into discs up front and drums in the rear. Steering is the factory set up and as mentioned previously the suspension is upgraded with air bags on all four corners.

This is one tough 1965 Chevy Impala SS coupe and has been packed full of upgrades. The car is being offered at NO RESERVE with 100% of the commissions being donated directly back to the family. Bid with your heart on this one, not only because it’s you can own a tough SS Impala but also to help a valued member of our car community and his young family at a time when they need it the most.
