HIGHLIGHTS: – Desirable American Muscle car – Coupe body style – Repainted in original colour – 383ci V8 engine – 727 automatic transmission – Power steering – Power brakes – Original sales invoice and books

This 1968 Dodge Coronet is a great example of a full size, American muscle car. The Coronet shared the same B-Body Mopar Platform as the iconic Dodge Charger, Plymouth Road Runner, Super Bee, and GTX. Based one of the most successful muscle car platforms of all time, the Coronet is a perfect option for the guy who wants something a little bit different to what everyone else has.

This example was sold new to Mr Garrett Caskey in Towson, Maryland, USA on the second of March, 1968 for a sum of $3,149.58. The car remained with the original owner until 1991 when the car was sold to the second owner who had it for 24 years. In 2015 the car was sold to the third owner who kept it for three years before selling it to a gent in South Australia. The car was imported in 2018 and sold to the current owner from NSW in 2020. Approximately 12 months ago the car has received a closed door respray in the original colour to freshen it up. The bumpers and stainless trim on the car are well presented. The car sits over a set of new steel wheels with dog dish caps and red striped tyres.

The interior is believed to be mostly original in its factory two tone green. There is a bench seat and enough room to comfortably seat 6 people. Lap belts have been added into the front for safety and there is an aftermarket tacho mounted on the dash. The radio has been converted to AM/FM for tunes while cruising.  The car recently received all new carpets on the floor.

Under the bonnet is the original, matching numbers 383ci V8 engine. The engine has been fitted with an upgraded cam and lifters however the original items are included with the car. The ignition has been upgraded to a Pertronix ignition system for better reliability. A Vacuum pump was also fitted to help maintain the brake booster vacuum with the new cam. The engine is paired to the original, matching numbers 727 Torqueflite automatic transmission.

The car is well documented with known history and original build sheet, sales invoice and hand book containing Certicard identification plate.
