This 1963 Volkswagen Beetle has been fully rebuilt in a ‘ratty’ theme into a unique custom bug. The bug was a full pan off restoration with all German parts used. The body of the bug retains much of its original Anthracyte Grey paintwork. The rear guards have been hand rolled and widened to fit the massive 12” wide rear tyres. There is a cool and rare flash trim down the side along with a roof rack and deck lid rack. There are Safari windows all round even the front windscreen and rear window pops out as well as new rubbers all round. The headlights have been converted over to modern LEDs. The paintwork on the car is typical ratty look with wear and tear and rub throughs in the paint and an old looking hand painted logo on the door. The car is accessorised with driving lights, period sunvisor, skateboard and suitcase up on the roof rack and spare wheel mounted on the deck lid rack. Completing the look on the outside is the custom wheel combo with 4” skinnys up front and massive 12” tyres on custom steelies under the back.

The interior has also received the full custom treatment. Inside the car is bright with lots going on. The seats are retrimmed in bright red and there is a red and white checkers Pizza shop theme inside along with black velour diamond stitching. The back seat is custom wrap around booth and creates room for a massive stereo in the back.  There is a custom centre console to hold all the accessories and switches. The stereo is a professional competition grade set up with tweeters in the dash, 6 inch components in the console, 6 inch components in the doors, two amplifiers in a suitcase under the bonnet and a massive 18” subwoofer in a ported box behind the rear seat.

Powering the bug is a custom turbocharged 1776cc flat four engine with twin carbs. The engine is paired to a four-speed manual transmission with quick shift. The front suspension utilises a new 4” narrowed beam from Skinned Knuckles Garage and has all new king and link pins, bushings and is on adjustable air shocks. The rear suspension also has all new bushings and runs air shocks. The air system is plumbed with a tank and Viair compressor under the bonnet and switches in the cabin so the ride height can be changed up or down at the flick of a switch. The brakes are the standard drums that were rebuild last year.

This is certainly a uniquely built Beetle with a huge amount of gear put into it. Be sure to register and bid if you can see yourself cruising around in this one.
