This 2008 Shelby GT500 is a genuine low mileage, one owner, modern collector quality muscle car. The Shelby name is famous around with world for both its race history and also for manufacturing some of the best performance cars ever built. For this reason, any cars with a genuine Shelby badge are going to be desirable among collectors, this GT500 is no different.
The car was purchased brand new by the current owner who imported it straight into Australia and had the car converted by Mustang Motorsport in VIC. The owners are enthusiasts who have a small collection of cars and the Shelby was always well kept and sparingly used to go into town and back from time to time, hence the extremely low 9,373 miles from new.
The car is finished in Torch Red with white stripes and features all of the usual Shelby GT500 styling with unique body kit and badging. The car sits on a set of genuine factory Shelby Alcoa Forged polished 20” wheels. The factory wheels are staggered in size front to rear but the owner purchased a third pair of wider genuine wheels and moved the rear wheels to the front to make for more rubber on the road in all four corners. This means rather than running a 255/285 wide combo the car runs 275/335 wide rubber while still retaining a full set of genuine factory wheels. The now surplus pair of original front wheels and tyres are included with the sale of the car.
Inside the interior is as you would expect for a car that has travelled less than 10,000 miles. The car was converted to right hand drive by Mustang Motorsports when it arrived in Australia. Sitting inside the car, you could easily be mistaken in thinking it was a factory built RHD car with the work being performed to such a high standard. Factory features include leather trim, air conditioning, power steering, power windows, power seats, remote central locking, cruise control, ABS and traction control.
Under the bonnet is the original SVT enhanced, supercharged 5.4L DOHC V8 engine. Like every real muscle car should be, there are three pedals with a Tremec six speed manual transmission. The factory Shelby suspension all remains in place and the brakes are the original Brembo discs with four piston calipers up front and two pistons in the rear. The exhaust was upgraded to a high performance Shelby item through Mustang Motorsport.
This is a fantastic opportunity to purchase a high quality, low mileage, real deal, Shelby GT500. These cars were only produced in limited numbers and are already sought after by collectors today.
