1978 Pontiac Trans Am

This 1978 Pontiac Trans Am is an awesome example of a 2nd generation Trans Am. The car has some great options and has been extremely well looked after. This T/A is arguably the most popular body shape, made famous by the TV show ‘Smokey and the Bandit’. A rare car here in Australia by its own right, most of the examples getting around are the iconic black and gold ‘Bandit’ colours, meaning you rarely see nicely presented Trans Ams in other colours like this one. The bright red paintwork is in great condition all round and looks great with the iconic Bird on the hood. The shaker pops its head up through the bonnet with “T/A 6.6L” written down the side so everyone knows what you’re packing under there. Finishing the look on the outside is a new set of 17” Snowflake wheels and tyres.
Open up the door to a neatly presented black interior. The seats are trimmed in a Corduroy style black cloth as they would have been from the factory. The steering wheel, dash, centre console and door trims are all in good condition. Creature comforts inside include, power steering, power brakes, air conditioning and power windows.
Under the hood is the iconic 6.6L, 400ci Pontiac V8 engine. The engine is paired to the factory 3 speed, automatic transmission. The engine bay is neatly presented with Edelbrock rocker covers and chrome alternator. The car sounds fantastic when you hit the key with an awesome rumble from that 400ci V8 as you cruise down the road. Good examples of these Bandit style Trans Ams are getting extremely hard to find so this is a fantastic opportunity to one for yourself.
