This 1960 Corvette roadster has been completely built from the ground up into a one off restomod custom. The body was removed from the chassis and completely stripped of every screw, wire and removable part. The body was then stripped off all old paint and every panel was inspected, old repairs were cut out and replaced with new repairs using new fibreglass. The door handles, trunk handle and windows were all deleted. It should be noted that the car has been smoothed into a roadster and has no windows, top or wipers because you don’t drive something this gorgeous on a rainy day. Each panel was smoothed, epoxy coated and gapped to perfection. The under body inner guards and engine bay received the same treatment. The body was then entirely painted in DNA Candy Cola Paint, and left to sit for 6 months. The chrome on the car was deleted in favour of a more modern DNA grey 2 pac finish. The front windscreen has custom made posts to give it a frameless, more modern look. The external look is completed with a set of custom made wheels by Budnik USA measuring 19×9” in the front and 20×11” rear.

Inside the car is a full custom, hand stitched interior using Tan Italian leather by award winning trimmer, Chris Bakker. The steering column is an IDIDIT item holding a Budnik steering wheel with Twist Machine paddle shift. A Dakota Digital dash is fitted in the original gauge housing. There is a custom console and all new carpets on the floors.

Under the skin, the car was reassembled on a brand new Art Morrisson Vette GT Sport Chassis with IFS. The front suspension uses Strange adjustable coil overs and an adjustable sway bar. Steering is provided by a power rack and pinion set up. The rear suspension is a four link setup with coil overs and adjustable sway bar. The complete chassis was then 2 packed in grey DNA 2 pack paint. The brakes are Willwood discs all round with 6 Piston calipers up front and 4 pistons on the rear.

Lift the bonnet and you will find a Chevrolet LS3 6.2L V8 engine completely rebuild with small cam and some head work. The engine is coupled to a 6L90E automatic transmission with 2500 stall convertor. The transmission is shifted using a ‘Twist Machine’ Paddle shift set up. The power is fed to the rear wheels via a 9” diff with 3.89 Strange gears and Strange axles. The exhaust system is hand made from the extractors through to the tail pipe by Tuff Pipes and has been coated. Other upgrades include an alloy fuel tank which was custom made with electric fuel pump.

This Vette is so extensively modified that it is almost impossible to list every item in detail and the car really needs to be seen to be appreciated. The car was featured in Cruzin Magazine Oct/Nov 21, Issue 249. The car has been engineered for QLD and is fitted with a QLD mod plate and has been on full QLD registration.
