1955 Chevrolet BelAir Big Block

This 1955 Chevy Belair Sports Coupe has been through an extensive build into a tough and tidy street car. The car was built in Adelaide between 2010 and 2015 and has been engineered for South Australia. The car currently resides in QLD where is has also been mod plated. The paint and body work on the car are of a very high standard and have been ceramic coated using Pomponazzi in June 2021. Under the bonnet is a 632ci Big Block Chevy built by RC Performance Engines in Adelaide. The engine has a host of go-fast goodies including a Dart Big M block, Pro-filer alloy heads and high rise manifold, Holley Dominator Carb, Meziere Enterprises electric water pump, Jesel belt drive, vacuum pump and MSD ignition system with crank trigger. There are braided lines and Aeroflow fitting used throughout the engine bay. The engine package is rated at 1000hp at the flywheel. There is a set of stainless headers flowing into a full stainless exhaust system. Also in the engine bay is custom inner guards, billet hood hinges and a recessed and smoothed fire wall.

Keeping handling in check is an independent front suspension set up with tubular A-arms and coil overs. The steering has been converted to rack and pinion. The stub axles are Holden HQ items and there is Willwood disc brakes up front along with a Willwood master cylinder. The transmission is a Turbo 400 with reverse pattern and a B&M Shifter. In the rear there is a four link with pan hard rod and coil overs. The diff is a shortened 9” incorporating fully floating hubs and axle assemblies with Ford Falcon rear disc brakes. The rear of the car has been neatly tubbed. The car sits on a set of satin Centerline wheels measuring 15×6 up front and 15×10 in the rear.

Externally the paint, body and chrome have all been refinished to a very high standard. There is no major modifications to the body from a cosmetic standpoint. Inside the first thing you will notice is the car has been converted to right hand drive. The dash is neatly painted and houses a set of Classic Instruments gauges. There is a chrome tilt steering column and a smaller diameter reproduction 55 Belair steering wheel. Under the carpet has been sound and heat proofed with dynomat and the carpets have all been replaced. The interior trim has been refinished in a factory style.

This is a very high quality, tough but understated street car. It should be noted that no tags are attached to vehicle but chassis number has been sighted and pictured in correct spot on top of frame rail which is all that is required for registration.
