This 1975 Holden HJ Monaro GTS sedan was built at GM-H’s Elizabeth plant in South Australia being completed on the 13th of May, 1975. The car was finished in code 1898 Deauville Blue metallic with code 18X Slate Black interior. It was fitted with a 4.2L V8 engine and three-speed Tri-matic transmission. The car was sold new by Parker Bros. Motor Co. in Colac, South Australia in late May of 1975.
The car underwent a restoration back to original with the body being repainted in its original colour using two-pack. The signature front and rear spoilers and fluted guards let everyone know it’s no base model. Finishing the look on the outside is a set of original GTS wheels with red striped tyres.
The chrome on the outside of the car has all been either refinished or replaced. Inside is a similar story, the interior trim has been completely refurbished in the factory slate black trim with red stripe. The original radio is with the car but has been replaced with a Retrosounds Bluetooth equivalent. The boot is neatly finished with new floor carpets and spare wheel.
Under the bonnet is a QR coded 4.2L V8 engine built to factory specifications. The engine is paired to a Trimatic three-speed automatic transmission and power is fed to the rear wheels via the factory 2.78 ratio Salisbury differential. The suspension and brakes were all refurbished during the restoration. The odometer is showing 275,000 kms from new and the owner tells us he wouldn’t hesitate to jump in the car and drive it anywhere.
