1964 FORD XM FALCON UTE

HIGHLIGHTS: – Custom build XM ute – Fully repainted in metallic silver – Shaved tail gate and roll pan – Full custom interior in red leather – Air bagged in the rear – Original 6cyl 170ci pursuit engine – Automatic transmission – Fully rewired – Factory style steel wheels with hubcaps

This 1964 Ford XM ute has been tastefully modified into a cool mild custom cruiser.

Starting with the body, the ute maintains most of its original body lines with some cool custom touches. The back of the car now features a smoothed tail gate with the rear bumper removed and replaced with a roll pan. The badges have been shaved off the side, fuel filler relocated to the tub and there are smaller side mirrors now hanging from the door frames. Other accessories include Tri-bar headlight covers, custom tonneau cover and period style visor over the windscreen. Airbag suspension in the rear gives the ute a custom stance that sets it apart. The look is completed with a set of colour matched steel wheels with dress trims and a set of fully refurbished chrome hubcaps.

Inside the car has been fully retrimmed by North Coast Custom Trimming in a bright red. The dash is all neatly painted in gloss red with custom switch knobs. The bench seat was retrimmed in red leather with matching red seat belts. Continuing the red theme, the carpets were all replaced, the door trims were trimmed in red vinyl and the headliner in red suede. A trio of aftermarket gauges sit below the dash to keep an eye on whats happening under the bonnet. The whole ute has been fully rewired by Caloundra Custom Auto Electrics with a super neat wiring panel tucked up above the passenger side kick panel. Under the matching red tonneau cover the tub has been sprayed in black stone guard for protection with custom fabricated bead rolled panels down either side.

Under the bonnet is the original but very well presented 170ci inline 6 cylinder “Pursuit” engine. The engine bay is neat and tidy with custom strut tower brace and everything neatly painted. The exhaust gasses flow easily thanks to Pacemaker headers. The engine is paired to the factory Fordomatic automatic transmission with Lokar floor shifter.  The cooling system has been upgraded with an aftermarket aluminium radiator with twin thermo fans. The engine bay also houses the Air Zenith compressor for the air suspension with air tank mounted behind the front seat. The steering components and braking system were both recently gone through and serviced.

This is a great little custom cruiser that has had a heap of time and money invested into it. Be sure to register and bid if you would like to see this one parked in your garage.
