This 1967 Chevy Impala SS Fastback coupe has been fully restored with a bunch of awesome upgrades! The current owner purchased the car back in 2008 from a gent in Victoria. At the time the car was in completely original condition, it was a factory 396ci big block SS Impala but was run down and in desperate need of restoration. The current owner pulled the car completely apart and rebuilt it from the ground up with lots of tasteful upgrades into what you see today.

Starting with the body, the car was stripped right down with the body removed from the chassis and placed on a rotisserie. Any necessary repairs were completed before the car was completely repainted in gloss black. The chrome and stainless on the outside of the car was all either refinished or replaced at the same time. The car cools tough slammed down low over a set of 20 inch Boyd Coddington wheels.

Inside the car has been completely retrimmed refinished back to factory in black. Being an SS it has factory bucket seats and centre console. The dash features a Dakota Digital VHX series gauge cluster and the stereo has been replaced with a Retrosounds system featuring Bluetooth connectivity. Keeping things comfortable inside is fully refurbished factory air conditioning.

Under the bonnet, the factory 396 big block has been replaced with a fully built and heavily spec’d 496ci big block Chevy V8. The engine build features Brodix heads and a Holley multiport EFI setup. Spark is provided by a distributer with variable electric timing and 6AL box with MSD 8253 HVC-2 coil. The engine bay is well presented with fabricated valve covers and a March serpentine belt pulley kit up front. Cooling has been upgraded with a new alloy radiator with twin thermos fans. Exhaust gases escape through aftermarket headers into a full stainless steel exhaust.

The engine is paired to a 4L80E four speed electronically controlled automatic transmission with MSD Atomic transmission controller. Power is fed to the rear wheels through a GM 12 bolt diff with LSD centre. The brakes have been upgraded to be four-wheel discs with a Hydrastop brake booster setup. The fuel system received a new stainless steel tank with in tank fuel pump. Steering is power assisted with new pump mounted in the belt drive kit. The factory suspension has been refurbished with lowered springs and tubular upper control arms up front.

Since completion, the Impala has only travelled approximately 4,000 miles. The car has been mod plated for QLD registration. Quality examples of big block SS Impala’s like this don’t up very often and this one is loaded full of goodies and is about as tough as they come!
